YMCA hosts spring break camps

The local branches of the YMCA will present weeklong spring camps in Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Agoura Hills to coincide with times when school is not in session.

The Triunfo YMCA—serving Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Westlake Village—will host a spring break camp from April 9 through 13 at the YMCA child care facility at Willow Elementary School, 29026 Laro Drive, Agoura Hills.

The camp is for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Extended hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Conejo Valley YMCA will host spring break camps from March 19 through 23 for Conejo Valley students at MATES Elementary School, 2000 La Granada Drive, Thousand Oaks, and for Moorpark children at Peach Hill Academy, 13400 Christian Barrett Road, Moorpark.

The camp is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Extended hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Each day of camp will feature a different holiday theme. Monday is Presidents Day; Tuesday is July 4; Wednesday is Halloween; Thursday is Cinco De Mayo and Friday is St. Patrick’s Day.

Every day will have outdoor activities such as a shamrock hunt, monster mash dance and capture the flag game. Arts and crafts projects include making cotton ball beards, American flags and noisemakers.

YMCA’s licensed day care providers will run the camps. The camps are open to children who are not currently enrolled in YMCA child care.
